Sharing Warmth
The wind drifted gently across the snow, carrying a deep, quiet stillness. It was the coldest night of the year. The sky stretched wide above the den, crowded with pale stars that shimmered in the frozen air. Bram the polar bear rested near the entrance. His breath was slow and steady as he watched the dark horizon.
Pip, the little fox tried to sleep, but the cold kept him awake. He tucked his tail close and shifted again and again, the frost seeping through his fur. Bram noticed and slowly moved nearer, careful not to startle him.
After a moment, Pip inched closer and curled against the bear’s side. The warmth surprised him. It wasn’t loud or fierce like a fire. It was calm, deep, and comforting, wrapping around him like a promise.
They stayed together throughout the long night. By morning, Pip understood that friendship could hold back even the worst cold.
